After having completed Calculus I, I found that there were still some gaps in my knowledge, some unanswered questions about some of the homework problems in the textbook. I consider this solutions manual one of the best investments I've ever made, for the money. It's like having a professor or tutor handy whenever you can't figure out how to do a problem. It's a great book for you to pass your calculus class, but it only provide odd solutions.
However, this book is better than the answer in the back of your calculus book.

I discuss this book within my review of James Stewart's Calculus: Early Transcendentals where I compare Stewart's approach and the approach of this edition of Thomas' Calculus in their discussions of limits and continuity. I rate Stewart's at 1 star. I think this book, this edition, is a clear, well organized, and even paced introduction to calculus. When it comes to math, I like a lot of practice problems to build a foundation of new material and work into the more challenging problems. This book does not do that. It does present a lot of information in each section but I would like it much more if it had more practice problems to really let the student get familiar with the new material before presenting more difficult problems.
